Olive Oil - Organic



The olives in Olivado’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil are grown above 900m in the beautiful mountains of the Sierra de Alcaraz. The mountain Picual olives are picked and processed within hours for superior taste and goodness. The 80 members of the cooperative are leaders in organic cultivation in Spain. So important to Spain is the Olive business the Junta de Andalucia (Regional Government) tracks every commercial tree. In fact, each one has its own GPS co-ordinates and is carefully monitored by regional officials to ensure correctness for EU subsidies.

The taste : Robust, with herbaceous and peppery flavours. The peppery flavours in olive oil confirm a high content of polyphenols.

With over 360mg/kg of phenolic compounds when bottled, Olivado Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil exceeds the requirements of the EU EFSA health claim: “daily consumption of 5mg of olive oil polyphenols contributes to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative damage”, with 5,4mg in a 15ml serving.
