Blackcurrants are well known for their proven health benefits. They have 2 x more potassium then bananas, 4 x more vitamin C then oranges and 2 x more anti-oxidants than blueberries. Clinical trials have found they have a positive effect on recovering sports injuries and arthritis due to the presence of extremely high levels of anti-oxidants which have an anti-inflammatory effect similar to pain killers. They are also being investigated for probable effects against cancer and asthma.
