400g, contrary to its name, buckwheat is actually a fruit seed related to rhubarb and sorrel. A giant in nutrition, buckwheat is also naturally gluten-free and offers a delicious nutty flavour that many people enjoy.
Stove Top Preparation: Mix together 1/2 cup of Buckwheat Cereal and 1 1/4 cups water in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Microwave Method: Mix Buckwheat Cereal and water in a non-metallic container and microwave for 2 minutes on high. Stir and microwave for 1 more minute.
Add in salt and dried fruit / nuts / spices to taste. Vary amount of water for thicker or thinner consistency.
